For you alarm guys out there...
hey guys, I heard this from my brother in Hong Kong.. and it's a good point..
when you guys install your alarm, you ususally just install those lights wires to your signal lights (corners), right??
don't do this.. this is what I heard...
some thieves would take out your corners, which is very easy..
they take the power wires to the lights out and tap them together
so once your alarm goes off, which the lights will turn on, it will short your alarm... you alarm's fuse would be fried....
then they can do whatever they want on the car...
Now correct me if I am wrong, probably now, the new alarms had fixed this problem..
good luck guys

not necessarily true!!! unless you pick up an alarm made back during the stone ages, you don't have to worry about this. any decent alarm installer will tap the parkling light wire after the fuse box, plus there is a fuse hooked up for that wire to begin with. if a thief were to do that, it would burn the fuse for the parking lights only. also, the alarm module is isolated from the parkling light wire for the alarm.
i wouldn't be concerned with that....i'd be more worried about where the brain is, plus where the siren is located.

also hide the brain the best you can, and put the siren where the theif cant see it. backup battery is also good, as well as a good install.
whats a good recommendation for siren placement, then?

I suggest getting a backup battery powered siren and installing it somewhere as hiden as possible and then drilling out the screws so that you can't remove it with a screwdriver.
