I just got my car back about a week ago and took it on the highway to get some miles on it (rebuilt motor). I took it up to 80mph and the tach was at 4000rpm's
+ or - 100. Is this right? (It's 96 Lude VTEC, just like the sig. says)

 

Perfectly normal. I think I'm at about 82mph @4000rpms in 5th

That's funny. With my H22/H23 tranny, it cruises @ 4k rpms at 80mph as well. I guess the two trannies are not that far off...

*Well, I'm sure 1-4th is longer in the H23 tranny, probably not 5th*

Actually, I have heard that the first gear is the same ratio of the H23 as the H22. Not sure if it is true though

 

goto http://www.preludecrazy.com they have the gear ratios for all the 4th gen prelude trannys.... then goto the quaife website and DL the gear ratio calculator.. lots of fun

with my accord tranny ( ) i do about 3200 at 80 mph according to my vafc. i can do about 90 at 4k.

yup im at 4k on 80mph. (with stock civic tires if that matters)

 

same with my 5th gen

 

same here, 4k @ 80mph; 5th gear for me seems be rev x 20

 

hmmm seems to be the same ratios as my gsr....

 

I'm at 4k at 70 MPH
