I know a lot of poeple are running volks in here so I thought I would ask here first. I want to buy a set of black lugs, but I do not know if the color strips off. The spoon lug color strips off quite easily and was hoping that the volks do not strip. Does anybody know for sure? thanks in advance and sorry for the dumb question, but I would just like to know before I spend the money.

although I didn't remove my lugs that much, I have never had a problem w/ them losing their color. They aren't just painted, they are anodized so they do have a higher tolerance to scratching...
I have a set for sale (may have one pending already), but IM me if you're interested....in MINT shape.

thanks for the replies everyone. I think I will get a set, sure beats the hell out of that kyokugen BS. Just goes to show, paying good money for quality parts= less headaches in the end.
Volks will loose color on the corners after the are removed a few times. I use mine for auto-x wheels so they see a lot fo use. I would say they hold up well though.
I have taken mine off a bunch of times now so far, and i have had no color come off yet. I think they are probably the best forged lug nuts out there right now.

The color will not come off that easily, but it will come off if you use the wrong wheel cleaner. How do I know? 'cuz it happened to me. I think it was the Meguire wheel cleaner that would cause this. However, it was a while ago so I might be wrong on the brand. I'm using Eagle All Wheel Cleaner, and the color of the Volk lugs on my Integra has not come off at all.
Volk lugs on my Prelude (color had faded)

Volk lugs on my Integra (color still black)

I just dont understand why a lot of people are soo paranoid about scratching up the lug nuts.
They are gonna get scratched up no matter what.
If u care so much, why not get something that u dont have to worry about flaking colors. Skunk 2's are one brand that comes to mind.

skunk 2's are knockoff's of dayaima(sp) lugnuts
people care because this is a hobby and they spend thier hard earned money on these parts would you spend 2 grand on wheels and buy some shitty looking lugs?
i didnt think so
