It was just rebuilt...what do you mean by that. Cuz 93 is low...it is good that the numbers are even all the way across but 93 is way to low....

93 just seems low like your rings never seated correctly. Most good compression checks come up in the 180-220 range. Perhaps you didn't do the check properly?

How long did you crank the engine over for?

You just rebuilt the motor??? Was the battery fully charged??? Seems low to me . But its good that they are all the same, but could also mean the person who rebuilt the motor f-ed up 4 times.

hehe no here is how you do it
pull the fuse in the underdash box for the fuel pump, put the tester in, have whoever is cranking hold the throttle all the way down.
then have them crank 3-4 times.
oh make sure the engine is fully warm too

I am pretty sure you have to crank it until the needle pretty much stops rising.

Do that and tell us what happens.

I was taught to take out all four spark plugs and test each cylinder one by one. And just turn the key and crank it until the needle stops rising.

Simplest way.

To make a compression test, the engine needs to be at normal operation temperature, then you need to take out all the spark plugs and disable the ignition system, then put the Compression Gauge in each cilynder and put the trottle wide open and crank the engine at least 7 times. You need to see if the gauge goes up quickly or if it goes slow. The battery should be fully charged. Your readings need to be equal or with a little diference.

Knight2000--

Is that like a leak down test your describing? what's the procedures/scale for making sure your cylinders are leaking at an acceptable rate? (edit) for the b16a..
