falling out of love with hondas!
why is it that everyone has a honda civic and has all the same exact mods, but yet everyone is top secret?. same tires, same wheels, same b-series swap, same wing, same hood, even the same oil! as much as i like hondas, where is the creativity. it looks to me that a guy with lights conversions has more creativity that me, because my ek hatch has the same tires swap etc. as 50 other guys at every spot you hangout at. and the guy you want to race will not tell you what he has, or pop his hood, because you might see the "DOHC" valve cover. but you both know its the same s@#t. even guys that i hang out with everyday will not let me know whats under their hood. let me know what everyone feels on this subject.
Well then you hang out with ********.
I'm sorry that you feel like you need to see what other guys' mods are to feel secure in owning a Honda. The "scene" is gay and I hate it - it would be the last reason IMO to build and own a Honda.
As far as you car looking like every other hatch?
You just have to be creative.
If you can find another 1992 Cx that is O.E Vogue Silver Metallic, has full custom Koni/Eibach suspension, all brand new trims on the exterior, a B18C5 swap, etc. like mine then you're right, but chances are you won't find one.
I don't have any crazy light conversions or body kits yet I've never seen another hatch just like mine.
If you're falling out of love good luck with another maker - it's all the same **** with a different name as far as the "scene" goes.
Also you might want to try auto-Xing as opposed to drag racing. For one thing auto-Xers love to help whereas most drag guys want that winning edge.
Oh yeah and street racing is gay. Everyone is secretive about bullshit and it usually involves hiding nitrous, not well-built swaps.

In delaware only one guys with a crx has a b18c engine the rest of the b16s i have seen are all si...no one knows about engine swaps...thats why I'm going to start changing the scene around here. All I see is ground effects kits, lights and wings and that makes me sick...
So here I go to change the world one ricer at a time.

my buddy drives a 4 door eg sedan with an h22a and the car is rusting and its completely stock lets just say he has scared a few people with the performance he has
Yeah I don't know anyone whose car is exactly the same as mine. No one has my blood, sweat, and tears anywhere on their car.
_______
Exactly!!!-i do agree that a lot of people have b16 swaps in hatches and drag racers are secretive for no apparent reason unless they have something incredible; not an often occurence though.

if you are talking about the import scene then you need more than just an engine swap... either go all out with your civic / integra or just get a fat *** ride...
uh do what u want, who cares, if u like it get it, it shoudnt stop u just beause someone else might have it....if that was the case NO ONE would have ANYTHING!!!!

just because alot of people have civic's is no reason to stop loving the quality and reliability that you have grown to love
if you love honda's then love them no matter what other people think or who owns one.

I hate this god forsaken "scene" more than most people. I only have one external modification, OEM mudguards. I hate caring about my car, trying to not have it stolen. My car was broken into by some god damn troll last year. Last week someone walked on my bros hood, you can see the boot prints left on the paint because this **** head had put scrathes in the paint. Have you seen Honda's own commercial that call for the "Civic Nation" to "Represent". God ... when I think about it I'd love to own another car... oh wait .... **** that i just turboed my D16 with 120,000+ miles on it. My engine with proper care has another 100,000 in it. My friends relatives has a Honda with 200,000 miles still on the road. I didn't buy a Honda to get into the "scene" when I got my car its was because I loved the looks, it gets great gas mileage, and is realiable. There was no "scene" and I'm a better person for not caring what others think. Who gives a **** what other people are doing for mods. If you want to be different then do something different; if you can't find something different to do then your not looking hard enough. If your looking into getting a domestic or something be prepared to buy a flow master exhaust and edlebrok everything else. Your not going to find a more customizable car company especially with the "scene" growing day to day. Just stay away from APC and other shitty companies and you'll be all set.
Just my 2 cents

J.k
My Civic is like no other in the world because it is a part of me, I built it, and it is am expression of who I am. I love my little Coupe and all of her 147,000+ miles I have put on her since I bought it new back in '95.

It's not even about that.... To me its not about anything at all... I dont freakin care. I do what I do, and screw everything else. I have been doing alot of thinking on stuff like this, and not just about Hondas and some supposed "scene" that everyone loves to talk about all the damned time... To me it shouldn't be about anything. I realized that. I know that I love Hondas, after looking at every other possible automobile, auto maker etc, I have just decided I love Honda. I would drive an Insight if I could... (I would have something else too, but still) anyway, you shouldn't put that much thought into it... If you do that means you are worried about what every one else is doing, or has or whatever. Who cares if every one had a damned Civic. Your civic is your civic regardless of whether or not it looks like an exact replica of the guy next to you, and that is all that should matter to you... If you don't like having the same ****, and if it bothers you all that much change some **** up... Its not that hard... And like some previously stated, you will soon realize that if you change cars, unless you build your own you are gonna run into other people with the same... I dont care who makes it or what it is... If it is a production car someone else has it, and most likely will end up buying the same **** you do for it. Here is my contention: IF you try to be a non conformist then you are conforming with all the other non conformists, and basically you have done nothing in the end. Just a waste of time and thought. Don't worry about stuff so much, just get what you like... I honestly dont think it is possible in any shape or form to be original.. Either someone has already thought of it, or they will just copy what you have done... So what difference does it really make in the end?
