del sol with engine in back??
Yea, that was in an issue of Super Street. Its Top Fuel's Del Sol. It is a force fed JDM B18C type R motor mounted in the rear. Here are some more pics....
The Sol ran a shakedown pass of 10.8 down the 400-meter track in Sendai, Japan.

that would be sweet if you could get an NSX motor in there. Doubt it's possible... but it'd be sweet!
the car and fabrication that went into it are absolutely amazing. i think i remember ss saying it was at like 550hp or something. nuts.
what i don't understand though, is if they are still using the totally stock itr tranny, or if they modified it.
if it was stock, and it was in the back, wouldn't the gear selection with the shifter be backwards? i'm sure top fuel wouldn't put so much effort into a car and not fix a problem like that.
anybody know about this subject?

In case you did not know, that is a rear wheel drive car. I wander how it handles though, has to be hard to drift being so small.
agreed.
ps-you have pm.

I'm pretty sure that thing doesn't drift. It appears that thing was built to be a drag monster, not a track monster.
