Default h22 vs. h23

hey guys,
I know this discussion prolly appeared b4 but I cant seem to find a post on it. I'm going to swap my engine and I'm not sure which one is better to get the h22a or h23. Any suggestions?

depends what your gonna do, if your looking to boost, go h23 is always been said to be good, but h22 is still fine for boosting. or if your looking for all motor, also go h22. h22

That is a big myth. USDM H23 is 9:8:1 compression v. USDM H22 10:0:1, that is not going to make tuning any harder, plus the VTEC motor have a better oiling system.

I here many people liking the H23 tranny on an H22, not sure why since technically it should hurt acceleration, but offer better mpg. It is a better choice for turbo H22s though.

I'm curious about this as well. I'm really considering buying a prelude. Its a 93 SI with the h23A engine. It'd save me some cash to keep that engine. The engine in the car has a blown head so its basically a resurrection of the block with a new head. I'm really curious which would be better for me. I'd rather keep the h23 and build it and go turbo. If you were me what would you do?

I believe the h23 has a closed deck design compared to the h22 which has the open floating cylinders. This may be good or bad depending on what you want to do.
