Remote Start functions perfect now, but the range sucks ass?
OK I figured out that I hooked everything up like the instructions said but they were wrong and told me to hook it up to the wrong channel. But I experimented and found the right one and now it works. Only problem is it won't start unless I'm like 5 ft from the car. I tried taking out the relay and seeing if it works but it needs that relay to get power so it didn't. Any kind of antenna booster for this type of stuff?

I have Autoloc but their website stopped working, I wonder if they went out of buisness or something.
does the general range suck? or just the remote start range? meaning can you still lock and unlock the doors from far away and you have to be 5 feet to away to start the car? you may have unpluged the antenna
*edit* btw, glad to see that you got it all working the correct way now

Make sure the antenna is up high and not blocked by too much metal. Also on most remotes, you can take them apart, and find a potentiometer on the circuit board. Then with a small PLASTIC screwdriver(ground down zip tie works) adjust the screw while arming and disarming and backing further from the car til you get the range maxed out. They do a basic setting from the factory, htey aren't going to tune each one.
Interesting. But like I said before are there any amplified antennas I can add to this. My friend said extend the wire and that would help. And it is under the dash around plastic pretty much, not too much metal right in that spot. And yes Keyless works from far away.
Be careful extending the wire, because it needs to be tuned for the frequency. You might be better off buying one of those DEI range extender antennas.

Autoloc's website came back and I found an antenna that says it gives you better range so I ordered that one.

no more than sitting there and starting it yourself...
or are you referring to the extended time the motor is on, compared to how we humans do it
