Default Question on the N1 exhaust.

I know this question has been asked many times before, and yes I did a search.

I just bought the apex n1 catback exhaust a few days ago, I should be getting it soon. I was wondering what it will sound like, with and without the silencer, and if there is anything i should be aware of. My car is a 99 civic ex.

Thanks

Don't know how it sounds on an EX. On B series motors it sounds damn good IMO. Loud, but deep and smooth and crazy in VTEC.. I have the APEXi N1 catback on my SI (b16a2). IMO, I'd save up for a swap before spending $500 and change on an exhaust system.. Good luck..

I've had the N1 catback on my 93 Ex for about a month now, and I've never installed the silencer and don't plan on it. But w/o it the sound is really deep and gets really loud around 3-4k rpm. The only problem I had with it, was that on bumpy roads it would rattle against my gas tank, so I bent one of the hangers and cured it.
overall it gets

Thanks for all the replies. I heard bad and good things about.
I dont plan on lowering it yet, so i shouldnt have to worry about scraping.
So it sounds like i made a wise choice, besides money towards a swap, which is something i plan on in the future.

And thanks for the clip

Thanks again everybody

I have the N1 on my '00 Si and it sounds awesome. Too bad I got a freaking "modified exhaust" ticket.

Great exhaust system, bought this second one after the first was stolen.
Mine doesn't rattle, my old one used to.

Mine came with heat wrap to wrap the piping that rest on the tank, this also kept it from rattling

I dont drive an EG but I own an N1, I love it, no complaints here except the noise can get rather annoying on the highway at constant speeds. Overall 2 thumbs up

Well, with a little work i guess I can get it to not rattle on the gas tank.

I was going to go with the greddy evo, but the guy that owns a shop by my house said his started to rust about a week after he got it, and something like after you hit around 3500 rpms you cant hear it anymore.

From what you have all been telling me, I should be happy with the choice I made.

Thanks again.

I have an Apex N1 on the end of custom 3" pipe. Its loud as hell with out the silencer. I've set off car alarms quite a few times. It also doesn't help still being NA, I can't find and power under 4500RPM. With the silencer in it hasn't set off any car alarms. I also find the power down low to get through traffic. I've had complements on the sound with and w/o the silencer.

I like the way it angles on the hatch, I wish it was the same on the coupe.

It has been a while since i ordered it, when I do the online tracking thing, it says that it is still in process of being shipped, hopefully they already shipped it.

I ordered it from modacar, which after I did so I heard was the worst place to order from. It was a good deal, thats why I bought it from there.

I payed $475
