Symptoms of bad valve guides..?

I had my valves replaced a few months ago, but im still having lumpy idle. I forgot to check/replace the valve guides. What are typical symptoms of bad valve guides?

smoke and poor valve sealing which could cause rough idle if the seats in the head are uneven.

if exhaust side oyu can look thru exh port and notice carbon buildup on the stems of the valve ...
