90 H22A4 accord Heater prob.
I have a 90 accord with a H22a4 and GSR ECU. It has started to get cold out here so I tried to turn on my heater and nothing happened. The lights on the panel will turn on but nothing blows. Is there some extra work involved to get this going.
Does the blower work i.e. when you crank up the air dial, is it blowing air around? Even if it's blowing cool air, that means the blower works. If there is no air being blown, then your blower is probably dead/not hooked up/blown fuse/etc.
If there is air coming out of the vents but it's not heated, then you should check:
- Upper rad hose when engine is warmed up for heat
- The switch/dial is actually opening the heater core hoses. Have a bud watch the engine bay near the firewall for the two hoses leading to the heater core, and switch the dial from cold to hot. There is a switch in the bay that should move back and forth for those hoses.
- If the switch is moving, leave it on hot and feel the hoses going into the firewall for heat.
- If the switch in the engine bay moves but there's still no heat, then I'm going to guess the heater core is clogged (or the hoses leading to it). But someone with more experience should know better.
