its the blaunpunkt mp3/cd in dash headunit. the model: MP3000 i dink.

anyone have any comments on it? any problems or distatisfaction?

 

Blaupunkt is ok, kinda middle of the pack, but for the price thats a good buy.

 

good price, blaupunkt is okay stuff, scala1 is an awsome seller, i have done business with them many times, highly recomend

 

I'm not sure if they still do, but Blaupunkt used to be the OEM stereo in Porsches in the 80's. Not that it makes any difference but it's interesting info

 

I currently have a blaupunkt in my car, I like it, its easy to use, looks nice, and nothings gone wrong with it yet, i say they're pretty nice decks

 

I think the lower end stuff is made by Sony or vice versa.

 

id get it if you want to replace it in a year or if you dont like good sound quality. in my opinion i wouldnt go cheap with that kinda stuff or anything that has to do with something you use every day.

 

i never knew blaupunkt was "low end" or cheapie?!! i thought it was a german brand AND YES a few OEM(german) used blaupunkt stuff from headunits to speakers in their car's back in the 80's(im not sure now). i have blaupunkt front componets and i LOVE THEM. for the price they rock!

in addition, i've noticed they look like aiwa and jvc ****. i checked around and i heard they're the same manufactorer, it could be just a rumor. no idea. but is it cheapie? like i have the highest end kenwood right now. im broke and wanted a mp3 player but i aint gonna downgrade my car. haha.. so any other people have commecnts?? please help! i would appreciate any good or bad news u wanna tell me. i'm just re-doing my system

 

high end pioneer, alpine, eclipse, high end kenwood. thats all id put in my car if i was you.

 

i installed that in my dads truck, he loves it, it scrolls everything in the tag twice, plus the folder its in, etc. the display is bright-*** backlit so you can see it day or nite with no problems, my only beef with it is, when you shut off the car/radio and turn it back on, it doesnt start at the same spot in the song, it restarts it, kinda annoying when listening to some Comedy Tracks that are 11-20 mins long, other than that, its a badass HU for the price, plus it has a remote

 

What about Clarion, Nakamichi(sp), McIntosh?....

 

There is a few more brands out there and McIntosh does not really make a "HU" per se. But lets stick with the question at hand about Blaupunkt. Yes Blaupunkt is pretty good they are not the best and are not that cheap but they will do you just fine. I suggest you check out some other decks though before you decide to buy this though. Try Clarion, Nakamichi (Having a bit of reports of bad problems), Pioneer Premier, Eclipse, Alpine, and if you reall want great SQ then check out the new Denon but it is pricey.
