Broken tranny bolts, what to do?
I've had a 96 D16Y7 swap from my friends CX hatch sitting in my garage for over a month now. Another friend with an 89 CRX that eats a few quarts of oil a week wants me to put it in his car. So I went out yesterday and started taking the tranny off. All of the bolts except the top 2 that go into the motor came out no problem like they should. The 2 on top snapped off, I guess they were either seized up, over torqued, or cross threaded.
So now I'm sitting there looking at it and thinking how to get them out. One is flush the other is in about 1/4" inch. I am thinking of trying some EZ Outs or keep increasing the bit size until I get it drilled completely out, then rethread the hole. Any suggestions before I ruin it beyond repair?
