Default '95 Civic help...

Well... my mom got a 95 Civic DX and my parents will finally let me buy junk for it soooooo I'm about to buy a clock, reverse blue light bulbs, and clear front turning lights from eBay... When I get the clock, do I have to take out the whole front vent thing? If so, are there screws for it or do I just pull it out?

The main thing is that I have a full bumper-to-bumper warranty on it for another year and I don't want it voided (alrdy had $300 worth of repairs done from it and about to do a $500-$600 worth of work in a few days so I need the warranty to be working)... I think it won't be voided if I add a new audio device in (they won't cover the new audio device) but not 100% sure... can I do this stuff for my car without voiding the warranty?

The car only has a cassette player with a radio and the speakers are only in the front so I want a cassette & a CD player in it and I want speakers in the back... I found out how to put in a new audio device (from http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs...PDF/466017.pdf ) but I need recommendations on some good audio devices... I'm a newbie at this so i prefer something that's plug-and-play... I want something that has: a cassette player, a CD player, and a radio, but I dont know if they have those for cheap (I don't want to spend like $300 - I just want a decent one so people don't break into my mom's car for it)... I've seen some cassette players that have a plug in it to put a CD player walkman in... and I've seen some CD players with a plug to plug in a cassette walkman... sooooo which one is good and easy to install on my mom's 95 Civic DX...

Is it easier to put in a CD changer in the trunk? and will it heat up inside the trunk during the hot summers?

And now to the speakers... can I just buy the right sized speakers for the back and just plug them in or something? I heard that all the wiring is already there (like the wiring for the clock even though they didn't put in a clock) and I can just plug them in... I don't need great speakers for the car (I'm fine with the original crappy honda speakers that are in the front and I just need some in the back)...

Sorry for the long & kinda confusing post but to sum it up, I want to do this without voiding the warranty:
1) Put speakers in the back
2) Put an audio device with cassette player, CD player, and radio

I'm a newbie at this stuff soooooo any help, links, info, or comments will help...

Thanks!

Do you have a hatchback or coupe?

Wait. Forget it. The small nuances of doing this job will take forever to explain based on how you've asked the question. You need a human being on a phone to help you get to the bottom of your questions.

Call crutchfield (www.crutchfield.com) and tell them what you want to do. They will be able to help you.

Thanks Shawn - I'll try that.

I was looking at audio devices on eBay and I found this auction ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1941787179 ) and it has the exact same cassette player that I have in my mom's civic... and according to the auction: "This also acts as an external Honda CD player controller if you plug into the DIN port in the rear."

anyone know where I can find an external CD player for a DIN port?

I'll prolly buy a new audio system...

Thanks!

Just about all of your cd changers have the DIN port, very common, if not there are adapters available. In my honest opinion it is best to keep the stock head unit as it will deter thieves, for the power output to be raised you would have to use an amplifier of some sort which would throw the whole reason of keeping the stock HU cause it would then be imcompatible. i just like the stock radio and the cd changer option, looks cleaner IMHO.

hope that helps.

Hey Jatan, I have an alpine cd changer for the oem honda factory cassette player. It comes with all the wire and extension cable to get to the trunk. I'm also from the Chicago area so if you are interested give me a PM. Also, if you are somewhat confused about the audio in the car, I can help you out with that too.
