vis racing carbon fiber hood = good quality?
my cousin works for racerx and they just got in 6 VIS hoods and 3 of them were all cracked. I have a fiber images and its a bad mold, the one side lifts up, so i had to get hood pins.
I have seen good ones and bad ones from both sides. So its really up to you, I am getting a VIS one. Affordable, clean, and from what I have seen good quality.
Good hoods. I just bought 12 hoods, they all look really good.
I believe I have the lowest pricing, but not sure.
Start at $355 for OEM
Thanks

At the shop I work at we have received 7 hoods from VIS, EVERY ONE is of the HIGHEST quality I have ever seen. THe edges are rolled, not cut, and it even has the spot for the weather stripping if you want to install it on the underside of your hood. I have seen all kinds of hoods, and this is the best hood I have ever seen. My friend has a Fiber images hood but the VIS hood is FAR shinier, the fitment is great on both but the VIS hood is the best hood I have EVER seen! Just my .02, I wish I would have known when I ordered my CF hood.
My friend just got a VIS on his golf, and I'm definantly impressed buy the look and fitment of it. Good overall quality. It wasnt as light as I expected it to be though.
VIS is a great hood, for SHOW CARS. They are nice and shiny, but weigh a ton.

How many of you guys use hood pins with your VIS hoods?
I have a friend that has a Fiber Images hood on his EG and the fitment looks horrible, the thing looks like it would come off at high speed. The crazy thing is, my friend does not have hood pins on it and it has not come up yet, just luck I am sure. I will give it one thing it is the most light/flemzy hood I have ever held...built like crap IMO. But, that is just this one, I don't mean to apply this comment to the whole.

fiber images hoods are 14 lbs. VIS are 19 lbs. Nineteen pounds does not equal a ton in most math classes, but i'm not einstein so maybe you are right.
VIS hoods are good quality. A bunch of people here have ordered them from me.
I have a Fiber Images hood on my car. Also good.
Anybody have a side by side pic. of the underside of a VIS and the underside of a Fiber Images. The underside is really the most important, as far as safety, for me.
