where's the knock sensor located on d16y8?

Default where's the knock sensor located on d16y8?

i have a 98 d16y8 in my hatch and the cel is on, with code 23, which is the knock sensor. where is it located on the engine? what problems could come from the knock sensor being bad/disconnected?

Should be located right above the oil filter. Also without the knock sensor, your timing will never retard when your at wot or what not. I would be real easy on it till you get the knock sensor taken care of and also run the best gas you can till then.Good luck

i didn't think SOHC had knock sensors. maybe you are running the wrong ECU.

They added the knock sensor in 96.. The 92-95 didnt have it.
