Default got my cat back on today

after a failed attempt the other day in 19 degree weather i was able to use my gf's parents garage which was a nice warm 40 lol and was able to get the pipes on. It's made by OBX and i got it off ebay brand new for $275 shipped, great deal considering it's SUS 304 stainless steel and bolted right up to all my factory points with no problems. well the only problem was the bolts that connect the end of the mid pipe to the muffler were threaded too short so the muffler wasnt able to make a solid union to the mid pipe so i was driving around all the rest of the day basically with 2.5" pipes and no muffler which sounded kinda cool but would get annoying after awhile especially when i cant even hear her talking to me in the car. it runs kinda crappy up until around 4500 when it really starts to pull hard, damn i would hate to drive around town with a B16 that had 2.5" or larger exhaust

ill probably just throw in some washers to make everything fit right or try to find some fully threded bolts and when i do ill try to get some pics up if it aint too cold, another cool thing about it is the exhaust i think was designed for a 2dr so the tip is tucked underneath the bumper cover a little bit which kinda gives it a slightly sleeper look

hold up... did u say $275 for a OBX cat? cuz if thats what you said... then damn did you get jacked. OBX sucks, too. the quality of their products arent that great.

if its a catback exhaust that you got, then that isnt too bad of a price.

good job on installing it yourself.

im thinking about going w/ OBX cuz i can get a header, high flow cat, and cat back exhaust for the same price as a name brand exhaust. Im poor so i gotta find the easy way to get around my problems.

How does it sound??

its a full length SUS304 stainless cat back not just a cat, i got the cat for $45 but it hasnt come in yet, yeah it was a biotch installing cuz the 3 sided flange has a bolt on the top that you cant see or get very much leverage with a wrench when lying on ur back but i got it off eventually

i just got the muffler connected today and holy crap this thing is loud, at WOT its almost hard to hear anything else but it does have a somewhat throaty sound, cant even imagine what it will sound like when i get the cat on

from what i could see the quality is as good as the OEM stuff, good welding and a very nice finish, thick flanges too, definitely a great buy for $275, if youre on a tight budget i would say this is the system for you, the cat is $45, the exhaust is $275 and i think their header is around $200 so for less than the cost of many cat backs alone you could have a "block back" dunno if thats an actual term but it makes sense i guess
