AEM vs. Ebay
I have just picked up a 93 Si with 166000 miles on it. Obviously sometime I will be swapping out the motor, but I was hoping to get a little power before hand. Ebay sells "cold air intakes" for 40 bucks, and I was wondering what the difference was between the no name and an AEM intake other than the filter? Is the piping any different? Also, I have a 97 header will it fit the 93 exhaust? I think so I just want to make sure before I rip it all apart. Thanks for your help
but what was shitty about it thats what im asking, i understand you get what you pay for, but what am i paying for that is different from an aem intake?
DON'T BUY EBAY! ebay intakes are GARBAGE!! i have bought one in the past for my g/f's prelude! SHITTY!! "you get what you pay for remember that"
the main factors influencing this would be the pipe size and outer/inner coating....it's probably gonna be an aluminum intake ( you can buy ceramic coat paint at autozone) and spray the outside and inside of the piping (make sure it DRIES) and BOOM instant AEM....seriously though, as long as it's 2 1/2 inch mandrel bent piping, go for it....aem uses mandrel bent 2 1/2 on civics with a powdercoating on the outside....

thanks guys, the only thing i could think that may be different other than the filter would have been the pipe size or how hot the pipe could get. Thanks for the help.
you can get a short ram at your local auto parts store for like 40 bucks! lol
