at my job i saw a white "type-r" parked in front. im looking at it to see if its a genuine type-r and see
Integra Type-r logos next to rear wheels but looked sketchy to me
leather seats in front.
altezzas
i looked for the front ITR lip but he had an aftermarket one. car appeared to be CW and even had CW front wheels (17's in the back). the dude comes out and hes like "do i need to move it?" im like "no i was just seeing if this was a type-r or not" and hes like "yeah its a type-r, its just got leather seats"
was this stunnas car a type-r or any other integra with 5 lug?
thanks

They don't come with leather seats, but maybe he put a set of GSR seats in there. If it was indeed a 5lug then perhaps it was a real R, either that or he is a stunna who spent a lot of cash on a lug conversion. Did you look for any other signifgant things like the Tach 8400RPMs? The R #Plaque on the armrest? The floormats or the material of the backseats?

i did look inside but he had tints. no titanum shift ****, and no red stitching on the boot. i think this dude was a stunna. but why would he have functional parts like his rear lower tie bar.
maybe he was stunna + enthusiaist which would equal what?

Well, did he have the stock exhaust system?
If the muffler is painted flat black it could be a GS-R or Type R muffler, definitely not RS/LS/GS mufflers.
And if the tip looked like this:

then it probably is a type r. So many people can fool the naked eye with type r wannabe's oh well.

Maybe this guy bought a Type-R that was recovered from a theft?
Maybe he likes the new gen car "fads" (altezza's, etc)?
You should have asked him to pop the hood and see for yourself. And maybe take a peek inside the car.........

If you ever want to know if a car is an ITR or not, look under the car at the rear subframe.
I've never heard of anyone who swapped a non-ITR rear subframe for an ITR unit.

subframe.... which part are you speaking about?
My wife and I bought a car from a dealer that sells salvaged titled vehicles and there was a CW Type R with leather seats, I checked it out and it was really a Type R as far as I was concerned looked so much like mine except I have a PY. It also has leather seats from a GSR different shift ****, armrest was like mine as well, I asked the dealer, and he said its all he could find at the time and did not know, I showed him my seats and told him that he should have researched more, and he said its ok, somebody is buying it already and it was just waiting to be picked up.
No offense to anyone, but please DO NOT GIVE AWAY every little difference between a type-R and regular Integras.
It's hard enough keeping it from being targeted from various people and last thing we need is to tell everyone what makes them a typeR.
Yes, I am paranoid!

Some people know the differences between an Itr and Gsr so well that their Gsr's look like actual R's. (I know my old Gsr did)
Anyone know what the GS-R oil pan is stamped, I looked under mine and it said P72? Is that a good way to distinguish a Type R?
the quickest thing is to look at the lugs and the side moldings....
next would probably be what reid said.(for a for sure bet...)

I feel the best way to make sure is to run the VIN.
What'll happen when someone whose ITR has been stolen before catches you writing down his VIN?
