Why is my Integra shutting off?
I don't know what is up with my car. Lately on occassion when I start my car, it immediately shuts off. Today it did that three times. One time the car started, but the motor was lagging, and sounded like it was misfiring or something. It would run, and then sound like it was going to turn off again, then it would go back to sounding normal, and then once again sounded like it was going to turn off. I gave it some gas, and after I gave it a little gas, my car seemed like it wanted to shut down again. I put it in first, and drove off, and it was fine. I don't know if it's the spark plugs or what.

Last time that happend to me..i spun my main bearing then i drove it 1~2 miles to get it to my friends house to fix...then it turned out that i warped my head driving it when it was broken...

only 25K miles on the motor. Don't drive hard at all.
I did a swap 3 months ago. It could be because of the cold weather, because if I go back and turn my car on shortly after driving it, it is fine.
Seems like it only happens after it has been sitting for a while.

I should add that this just started happening as the weather has been getting cooler.
When my car does start, it idles very, very low, like it's going to turn off.
I heard these issues may be related to having a p28 chipped computer, which I have.

mine kinda does that , once and a while it will throw a missfire code. i checked everythign , and i think i narrowed it down to a bad injector. ill let you know after this weekend , im gonna swap the one injector i know i have the prob on and see if it helps.

some say it can be attributed to the Fast Idle control Valve/ Idle Air Control valve

i had the same problem too...found out the 93 octane gas from diamond shamrock was the cause so i switched to 93 octane from chevron and it never happened again.. hope this helps.

well mine does the same thing , esp when its cold.
but i know for a fact i have another issue that might be causing that , becuase i get a cell for a misfire, its nothign ignition wise, and its only on cyl 1, so im gonna swap that injector out with another one to see if the cell changes cyl. if it does, ill throw my RC 550's in early and tune em down big time with the hondata .
