I've got a really nice Viper system and I LOVE it. never had any problems with it and (what i like most about it) it doesn't go off just because someone else with a loud exhaust drives by (like the cheapie alarms do). very good all around alarm system. i'd reccommend it.

I have a viper 550, it won't stop anyone (a pro) from stealing it, but I have remote start. maybe when I move back home, I'll just have to put spider locks on all for tires.

Wow thats pretty good...I was thinkin that thing would be about $700...well I think I might get an alarm before anything else because that is one of the most important things cuz I really dont trust ppl in my city (Charlotte, NC) cuz ppl give me that "eye" when they see me sometimes...and ppl at my school envy my car (what can I say ) so I gotta be careful...but wow $300 somethin is good...might have to get that soon...how much did it cost for installation?

how much did it cost for installation?

It cost me about $6, for the connectors, and wire tappers......saved myself hundreds of dollars doing it myself, and yes, everything works properly

hold up............................

how did you ONLY pay $310 for the compustar?
did you get the top of the line model?
anyway to answer your question I bought a clifford when I got my teg and it has worked well, but like dude said earlier, if someone wants your car, they will take your car.....

let me know if you can get me a compustar if you can get them at that kind of price

How hard is that install? I work at best buy and get $300 alarm systems for 80 bucks or i can have them install it for like 80 or so I think they said. I've done work on my car but nothing electrical (cept guages). Anything special I need to know for install or instructions good on that stuff?

ill check the credit card bill tomorrow, but im almost positive it was 310, plus tax and shipping (gay cuz i thought you dont ahve to pay tax out of state, but ohwell) its from a place in Texas, i have hte number written down.

Installation wasnt hard, but there was about 30 wires or so......just take your time and be neat......

And yes i have the top of the line compustar....

http://www.compustar.org/products/2WSS.html

They give you a wiring diagram, but its a tad confusing, Ill be glad to help anyone out.......maybe i should start a group buy on them? I should give the guy a call and see what he can do.

Who else would be interested in a Compustar Group buy?

However, the only thing is, compustar being a small company wont warranty the product unless it comes from a dealer, so i dunno if that would effect anything.....ill look more into it.

I asked him to hook me up, he starts whining about the managers all getting laid off and he's quitting after xmas.....so I'm saying to myself, well in that case if you're gonna quit definately hook me up (lol) I just want that compustar alarm or the clifford avantguard, I have an installer............

lol...yeah the managers get really ridiclous around the holidays. If they look at your account and see more than 2 items of similarity they will pull you aside and ask what is going on...already had 3+ friends fired for employee purchases Since I'm probably buying mine w/in the month it looks like I probably won't be buying another one for like a year...lol, anyway sry man. I already got 6+ cd decks on my account...get hassled about it all the time

Make sure you add a battery backup and a peizo siren to whatever alarm you buy.
