I was outside tonight trying to install my red / clear tails.
Got the inner ones out with no problems, but the outer ones seem to be a bitch!
Looks like you have to take the panels off in the rear to get to 2 of the nuts. Anyone know what all I have to take off to get the lights off?
I will be out in the morning trying again since it got dark to quick. Just would like to have a mental picture of what to do before going outside in the cold weather.
Thanks
Also, I am just bored and needed something to post / type
Read thorugh about 8 tail light posts and none covered this
I remember on my 98 I just pulled the carpet back and loosened the nuts.

Yeah that's a complete bitch. I didn't remove the panels just worked around them and pulled them out of the way. Gave myself welts all over my hands but they're on. Oh and I managed to drop a bolt or two down inside. Be careful not to do that.

I'm going to remove the panels in the morning and put them on. Did you ever get the nuts out? ....or just riding with 3 nuts holding the light
LOL, actually I think there might only be 2 nuts on one of the sides. It's almost impossible to reach down in there. I didn't have a magnet so they still all the way in the bottom. I think I found some nuts that were close to size to use...
You can remove the sidewall completely. But this needs much time.
You can also remove the middle lower panel, then lose the rear screws, put down the rear seats, and then you pull a little on the side-wall. Now you reach very easy all the nuts. For installing note: install all nuts, because of the water, that can come in.
**** to my english, I´m from Germany...

Stripped is good sometimes!

I have the tails in after removing the panel that is directly in front of the hatch door and halfway taking off the side panels.
Man, the f**kin' inner tails are fitting like $hit!
The left outer tail's hole for the small corner tail light is too small for the bulb to fit inside
There is a lot of dirt and $hit behind the panels thats added up over the 10+ years. I am thinking about removing all the rear panels and just leaving the front seats, back seats (I have a 5 year old daughter), door panels, and dash.
I want the car to be FAST and it's not like it's an $30,000 03 Beamer
Just a project car which I
What do you guys think?
