I bought this car from a friend for $800.. I dont have any pictures but I can try to describe the things that are confusing me.

The papers I have say 1990 Civic DX.
I see posts on here that say 90-91 civics have rounded cluster covers.
-Mine is a squared looking cluster cover
I've seen sites that say only 90-91 Civics have seatbelts on the doors.
-Mine has belts on the doors (although they may have been replaced (drivers side alignment probs).
Most 90-91 Civics I've seen have a 5-spd tranny.
-Mine has a 4-spd tranny
90-91 civics have clear corners with no screws in the side.
-Mine have no screws in the sides


Now my question is, does it seem as though my dash has been replaced or could multple parts be swapped on my car?

Any info will help!

 

post ur vin number
on ur vin number the year of the car its on there... also look on the door... between the driver door and the rear fenders theres a big white sticker... it says the car year...

seat belts on door=90-91
check ur tailights, if the reflector its next to the reverse light its 88-89, if they are in the middle of the taillights, its 90-91
4 speed= STD model . not DX
square looking cluster its 88-89 and it has the buttos right next to the bottom of cluster instead of dash....
corners without bolts on them its 90-91
i dont think all those partsa have been swaped on ur car....

 

There is no reflector, the center piece is from a 4-door i believe.. it is black and says civic in the center (4 dr center?)

It is a Honda of Canada model if that makes any difference...

dude its a 90-91 standard hatch. or a cx in canada specs

 

Well.. I need to change my signature then. All the papers except the title say 90 dx.. wonder how that happened.....

probably don't have cigarette lighter or clock.. eh?

 

Didn't have them, I picked em up at the junk yard for $5.00 and installed both... they plugged right in (as do other parts that come as options on my car).

 

Make sure the VIN on your title matches the VIN on the car, you may have gotten hosed

 

They match.. And I bought the car from a very good friend so I know it's legal and clean.

i dont mean that .. i am talking about the taillight itself!! in the middle of the brake lights theres a reflector incrusted on the red parts of the tails....

 

also check your door jamb it will tel you the year it was manufactured.it could have been a late 89 badged as a 90

 

yeah i was about to say just to look at that .. the answer its right there...

 

the cluster in the 90-91 is only a little bit rounder than the 88-89 it kinda sticks out more i can hardly tell the diff on the taillights the 90-91's the reverse light is taller than the 88-89 also the year should be also printed on the ecu located under the kick plate under the passenger side carpet

 

i bet its a 2002

It's official... I drive a 2002 hatch with custom 1990 body styling...

I guess I got lucky eh?
