Default 94 del sol si vtec for 5300, good price?

i found a 94 del sol vtec with 70k miles, its silver (will paint champ. white) , it has aggressor front (which will be replaced with stock if i bought the car) and a 3pc wing (that i will take off) all for $5300. good deal? maybe if i can bargain it down to about $4500. tell me what you think. the vtec model is 160 hp right? and about 115lb torque at 8000rpm? correct me if im wrong.

Sounds like a good deal to me if it's mechanically sound. I paid $6500 for my '96 Si. Just check www.kbb.com and www.edmunds.com.

Was the car originally silver? Or did the owner have it painted?

The reason I'm asking is that VTEC models never came in silver.

Are you sure it's a VTEC, or is it an Si?

If it's a VTEC model, that doesn't sound like that bad of a deal at all.

i think you can get a better deal. ive seen 94 VTECs go for 4500 but with 100K miles, id wait and get a VTEC and not the Si. IMHO

this is the SI model, with the d16z6 SOHC engine, I think you could find a better deal.

I'm the same size and have no complaints about fitiment. Hell, I showed a friend of mine how to drive manual with it and he's about 6'2" and 250-300#.

By the way the ad is worded it may just have the D16z6 engine. So make sure to check that out. See if you can get a look at the engine bay or tachometer.

ic. so SI and VTEC are 2 completely different models? i dont know much about del sols. i just came upon it. if its the vtec model, the redline would be 8000+ and if its the SI model it would be like 6600 right? so the SI model is non vtec?

The VTEC (B16) model would redline at like 8100-8200 RPM.
The Si (D16z6), which is SOHC VTEC, would redline at about 7200 RPM.
The S (D15b7 or something), which is SOHC no-TEC, would redline in the 6000 RPM range.

Checked out the link.....ummmm, well.

Si is SOHC VTEC, 125 hp (flywheel). It is custom painted, since only del Sol S (106 hp) models in 96-97 came in silver. It has a body kit ( ). 70k miles is low.....run a carfax.
