Need advice, should I turbo or go all motor?
I'm looking to either to go all motor, or turbo, what do u guys recommend? looking for speed mainly for street driving, and occasionly racing. Someone i know is selling his setup
Is this is a good deal: JG Pro series B18C1 block comes with JE 85mm 12:1 pistons, Eagle rods, ductile iron sleeves, balanced & blueprinted. B16A head is ported by Portflow and comes with JG dual valve springs, JUN titanium retainers, JG CNC intake valves & red Type R valve cover and Skunk 2 Stage 3 cams, and Skunk 2 cam gears, no manifold he wants 3000 or should i just buy a turbo kit??? what do u think will be faster?? Or he wants to trade his motor for my stock gsr motor and like 1000 so then I just have to buy an intake manifold. What do u think I should buy? I can get a used turbo kit for like 2000 or basically be fully built all motor for the same price.

But the supercharger is easier to deal with on the street due to instantaneous boost and a linear powerband and it still creates enough power to beat and/or hang with other modified cars.
I must get to 200 whp. And I prefer autocross over drag racing. Can a JRSC take me there on my LS Integra? How much do JRSC LS's usually put down? And if I need a long term forced induction solution (ie, last through college), is a turbo with 7 pounds of boost going to be more reliable or is a JRSC tuned to 200 whp?

I would go all motor if i was you...dont have to worry about your motor blowing and its easy horsepower. check out http://www.gude.com you'll love what you see
you can't beat an easy 50-60 horsepower for well under 2 grand...

well I use to have a civic and it was all show, and it got jacked before I could go speed on it, so I wanna be able to have looks and speed with my new car, and after going to the races last night I realized I wanna be fast, I think I'm just going to go turbo for now and when it starts heating up again, i'll do an all motor setup, because out here in Cali it gets pretty hot

Wow dude. All motor is not easy horsepower. It takes time, a lot of mechanical know-how, and a ton of money to have an all motor car that is fast. A turbo is definitely the easier route. I would say if it is an LS/RS throw the turbo on it.

Since you are trying for autocross, I would check your local rulebooks to make sure that you can get away with the JRSC. The more mods you have can potentially bump you up into a class that you will not be competitive in. I would check out the Roadracing/Autocross forum and ask there.
Hey BoostnGSR, I'm not trying to be a ***** or anything, but how in the world do you have a turbo GSR and have less that 200 whp? That is like the lowest hp dyno chart I've ever seen for a turbo GSR. If my car only has that much hp after I turbo it, I'm gonna be pissed. I mean you only have like 45 hp more than a stock GSR. I've seen mild all-motor setups making more hp than that. I think you need some serious tuning, cause you should be well above 200 whp.
a 6 lb jrsc on an integra ls is an absolute joke. i think you get 30-40 whp?
This guy is right a friend of mine had the JRSC on his LS. We went to the dyno and he only put 147 whp.[Modified by davanca24, 9:08 AM 11/29/2002]
i would do a b20 block with the non-vtec head and slap on a turbo. It's better to work with what you have, than to go out searching for a vtec head to do ls\vtec.
Turbo will be more fun than a Supercharger. But both will probably end up to be money pits. Hence me selling my car.
Once you start making power, things will start to break. You'll constantly have to put money in to fix things here and there.
That's just my opinion though. My friend's with all motor setups are running with no problems. I'd go that route if I could do it all over again. Actually no, if I could do it all over again, I'd get a nice BMW or something and just cruise around in it. Yeah, that sounds nice.
