Removing center console
can anybody tell a nooB how? i took off my shift **** and took the six screws out and ive been pulling and pulling but the thing still wont come off...can anyone enlighten me? thanx
6 screws?
You should only have to remove 4 of them. The 2 of them that are located right under the e-brake button under the cover, and the 2 of them that hold the console in, on each sides near the rear towards the rear ashtray. Then just slide it up.
If you're talking about the cig lighter and change/ashtray you have to remove the most outer two on each side of the console, then you have to remove the ash tray, take out 3 screws behind that, and then pull it out. You will see 2 more screws after that. So that's a total of 7 screws.

Well, here's how many screws you need to remove...
2 - screws by the e-brake handle (under plastic cap)
2 - screws by the ash-tray in the center console
then, 2 screws on the side of the front console (the one that's attached to shift-**** cover)
finally, 2 screws hiddne behind the front ashtray and front console panel.
Yup, you have to pull out the whole ashtray and cigarette lighter housing.

How come my JDM boot has a seam that goes up the back?
There is a seam in the middle, between the red stitches. Got is from JDM Hondaparts. I guess its for the Civic Type R because the bracket it came mounted on was wrong. I had to put it on the stock bracket. Did i get screwed or what?

I can understand u may got screwed by sending u one with wrong bracket because mine fit right it from these guys without any hassle, but I thought all the boots are same?
It's the same bracket as the one pictured in my last post, which is not the same bracket as the stock. The bag it came in was sealed with the Honda tag, with just the part # cut off. I'm confused. It fits right on the stock bracket, but why is there a seam down the back. Now i'm aggravated

I have a digi cam but don't know how to get the pics up. I'm ready to go buy a new boot or call JDM Hondaparts and see what's up. It looks good and fits good, but why that seam? Nobody else's looks like that.
