Default my viper alarm stopped chirping...

ok, i know that to enter silent mode on a viper alarm (i have a 500 or 600 ESP, not sure, it came w/ the car) you are supposed to press AUX and then lock/unlock.

i accidentally pressed aux before lock and now ITS STUCK LIKE THAT! now it's silent on ALL presses, whether or not i have driven the car or turned it on, etc. how do i enable the chirping again? it's getting annoying. thanks!

it will usually only do this silent arming for that one press of the keys... are you sure you didnt put the car into valet mode?? is the led flashing or is it constant on?

you most likely put your car in valet mode. for me to take it out, i have to hold the'II' button for a second and the 'I' to disarm/arm

thats what happened to my friends DEI siren.. but its not in silent mode... when you panic or smack the car (set off impact sensor) does the siren go off? on my friends only the lights flash.. and theres no arm/disarm chirps.. so we're going to replace the siren w/ another one.. but he decided to be a bitch and want a different siren sound.. so we're looking into other sirens..

anyway when my other car had a Viper it would only silent arm on that one time.. unless you programmed it (from the program mode/valet switch) to be permanently silent... from the remote.. it would only silent arm for that one time..

is the red LED glowing constantly but the keyless and parking lights flash? if so your in valet mode

have you tried pressing or holding the AUX and then hitting lock again? I haven't had a Viper/DEI for a long time.. so I forget... but those are things I'd look at..

I'm sure an installer or owner of those models will come along and provide better help..

if you have a viper 500 or 600 you have a 4 button remote.. you need to have a door open, and hit button I then II then I agian and it will return to normal mode..
