A 2-1/2" inlet cat with a 2.25" outlet won't cut it either on a stock ITR B pipe due to the bottleneck. The ID of the stock ITR B pipe flange is around 1.8".

Here's a pic of a 2-1/2" cat and the stock B pipe flange.

i have read that the carsound cat will work fine with the 2.5" collecter and 2.25" outlet paired with the dc jdm 4-1. i also heard that i need to take the bottleneck out of the stock itr b-pipe or somethin like that????

The problem is that your stock exhaust doesn't have a 2.25" inlet. So if you are removing the stock exhaust bottleneck, why not just weld a 2.5" inlet to it to match with the Carsound cat?

parker, dave just corrected what you heard. A 2.25 cat wont bolt up to the stock B pipe. You need to have a 2.5" flange welded onto to the stock B-pipe and get a 2.5 in/out cat.

can an any exhaust shop just weld a 2.5" flange onto the stock b-pipe? is that expensive?

Wouldnt the negate the purpose of getting the 2.5" cat though? I assume a full 2.5" system would produce more.

The Carsound cat in question is either a 94006 or 94066 or the 54006 correct Dave? And, what are the differences between the three? I kinda need to know which one will work for OBD2 and be the shorter one so I can run a JDM length B-pipe and back exhaust.

I currently have a 94006 attached to my 60mm collector JDM "Bling Brand-name header" and it does work, the fit is slightly off and tight but, it works... I don't think Dave was inferring that the cat won't fit, I just think he was referring that it is NOT perfect or the optimal setup and that either a 2 1/2" or 60" catback should be paired to the header and HF cat for the best results.

As per the bottleneck, Yes aboslutely for sure the cat to stock B-pipe bottlneck is there and I'm sure it impairs flow but, there are a few others ont he stock catback as well. I just haven't decided on a full catback to relieve the bottleneck/flow issue.

As per running the 2 1/2" Carsound cat with a JDM header and stock catback, It works,,, for now, and yes you will feel slight gains depending on what header you choose.

As it currently stands I will be looking at the shorter JDM length Carsound cat to fit the setup I desire. Is it the 54006? Dave?
