Default tranny/clutch problem

today sucks, i picked up my car from getting painted PY and it looks so nice, i didnt even get it home and i am having a problem, i was driving and went to shift to 2nd pretty hard and it went in but just revved up, now i cant get it to go at all, the motor runs and idles fine, but when i try to pull out and slowly let off the clutch while giving it gas it starts making a grinding noise, does this sound like clutch or tranny?

what kind of car and tranny do u have?
cable or hydraulic?

My brother's accord was giving him problems pretty much like yours so he got the oil pump setup fixed and it worked fine.(his tranny wasn't "picking" any gears at all)

If it's cable i have read here about "one bracket" coming lose but i haven't had that problem so i can't really tell you.... sorry...

is the clutch new or how old is it?

the lever hes talking about the is throwout bearing fork.......

All in all sounds like you have the usual clutch gone bad syndrome.........It doesn matter really what is broke...or worn...whether it be clutch disc...pressure plate...t/o bearing......it is time to replace it all...never only fix on thing....

just have a tranny shop inspect it.....and hope for the best i.e. Your t/o bearing retainer will be able to be reused.....t/o bearing fork is okay...clutch cable...is okay...

Im going off the basis you have a cable type clutch.....??
