sight of GSR causes Suzuki TL1000 to *crash*
This past monday which was my day off, I had some free time to kill during the day so I went out for a cruise in my Integra down Woodhaven Blvd. in Queens NYC. I was on my way to a motorcycle dealership when at a red light I happened to pull up next to a blue/white TL 1000.
I was like, wow the bike is cool...anyhow as the light turns green, I put the car into first and took off normally....and wound out first gear.
the Suzuki rider changed lanes, gets next to me and pulls a wheelie.. The minute I noticed his front wheel pick off the ground like 4" I immediately decided to slow down, and meanwhile i just wanted to be out of his way in case something happened....by this tiem we were going like 35-40 MPH already and the motorcycle driver proceeded to give it more throttle and shift his weight to the back of the bike, causing it to lift up like 90 degrees. when his wheel was all the way up in the air, he lost control of the bike and fell off it, causing him to roll on his rear end for a few hundred feet.
His bike came down with a thundering crash and skidded for a few hundred feet before coming to a full stop in the far right lane.
Feeling bad for the guy, I pull over in the middle of traffic, park in front of his bike and got out to ask him if he was okay and he wouldnt even look at or speak to me. Traffic stopped for a few minutes as a few drivers got out of their cars to see if he was okay. Anyhow I noticed that his side plastic was scratched up and that his frame sliders helped prevent further damage. his front rim was bent and was leaking air, and when he drove off again the front end of the bike had a noticible shimmy.
Anyhow, I felt like God was telling me not to get a bike....but anyhows I went to the motorcycle dealership anyways, and a few minutes later that guy comes in....I guess to get estimates on repairs.
Anyhow before anyone flames me I just want to say that in no way did I provoke the Suzuki driver.....he just happens to see me in my GSR and try to show off and somehow messed up....
Laterz!

congratulations, he acted like a dumbass and ended up looking like a jackass. Glad you're exposed to the ugly side of being a squid. I hope you do ride if its something you want to do and happy turkey day
Bah even if you were revvin' on him I don't even bother with cars. Its not even a contest. Too many things to happen doing a wheelie on main streets. I bet he blames you when he tells the story saying that you couldnt drive or something and that you swerved at him.
These guys need to keep that stuff off the streets, expecially in NYC! I can't talk, b/c I ride with people who pull of stupid stuff all over, including the interstate
I don't think he was showing of to you and your GSR
I own a GSR, a Kawi 250, and an F4i. Just for comparison sake, my 'lil 250 will kick my GSR *** in the twisties & straight line (with the exception of top speed
) He was just being stupid for that moment, and paid for it. Good think he didn't hurt himself bad, or anyone else.

it was good of you to back off...
