2003 Expo: National Caravan Discussion
For those coming from the west and southwest I suggest you plan to spend the night in Omaha, NE on Thursday April 10.
On Friday April 11 I suggest the caravan from Omaha meet up with MN, WI, IL just inside of Idiana on I-80.
Just outside of Toledo we can hook up with MI.
The Beaver is pretty darn close to Toledo.
Does this sound do-able?

I guess the caravan from the west will be starting with us (SoCal).. From here it has been discussed that we will head to Az.. from there to??

Joker and I had a few ideas that could be a concern with others. Some people would like to the Socal crew and the Texas crew to meet in Omaha. I was thinking of going to the FL/WTDR.
Im open for options...

Votes to go the Omaha way
What If FL/NC/SC/etc go up the coast (i don't know which way is fastest for the east coasters), and GA/TN/etc go north to Ohio, where the Cal/AZ/TX/etc caravan will be with the midwesterners, meeting the ohio/michigan people.
(that's confusing)
cliff notes: south can meet us in ohio, but i have no idea how the east coast fits into this eastward caravan.

I proposed Omaha becuase there are at least 3 ITR owners there and it is the same lattitude as the Beaver.
Having the east coast crew meet up with the caravan may not be possible - however they are not the brightest bunch. Maybe we can convince them that it is fast to drive west to Indiana before going east to the Beaver
Thursday or Friday..... What ever it takes. It is just a little bit early to decide on the exact day. Before the west coasters made their plans (like going to FL - WTF?) I wanted to throw out some ideas.
If the West/Omaha carvan is really adventerous I suggest you take 151 from Cedar Rapids and come visit me in Madison. 151 is an awesome drive. Lot of nice rolling country roads. We can have a hella cool time partying down by campus and then stop by King Motorsport (our event sponsor) on our way to meeting up with the MKE, IL, MN, IN, MI crowd. Plus the Joker wants to play some hockey.

Seems like there would be 5 or 6 caravans. (when I say 'chicago' I am referring to I-80 right near the illinois/indiana border, southeast of chicago)
1. Northwest through the midwest states to chicago (obviously picking up those along the way)
2. Southwest, including Hawaii (for Reid
), SoCal, AZ, TX, NM through either CO or TX to chicago.
3. South of the Mason-Dixon line, but not East Coast - GA, TN, AL, KY, etc - up through TN, through KY, to Ohio, where 1 and 2 will meet up.
4. Southeast (FL, NC, SC) - up the east coast and North thru WVa. (Thanks willard)
5. Northeast (NY, east PA, MA, CT, NJ) - meet up with Southeast or just straight west through PA.
6. Midwesterners - Either meet up with those from the west (1 and 2) or find your way to the chicago meetup point. Those in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio should be able to find a meeting place along with way to toledo.
Is that a start?
These all include going up 151 to madison, where some of us chicagoans may want to stop by on the way to king.
