I don't remember the exact model number my friend has.. I think its a Viper 300 ESP or something along those lines... anyway the siren gave out.. when the alarm is armed you smack the car and the parking lights will flash but no siren sound....

also when you arm/disarm the alarm.. there is no chirps... he doesn't like the DEI 6 tone siren arm/disarm sounds.. and wants a working siren that emits those high pitched "beep beep" like on BMW's... I know Alpine makes alarms for BMW but the Alpine siren in my other friends 8059 (i think thats the model number) doesn't make the high pitched "beep" when it arms and disarms.. it makes a chirp like most alarms...

can anyone tell me a brand and part number to a siren which makes the high pitched "beep" arm and disarm chirps like on the BMWs? my friends alarm is only like $200... so he doesn't want to go to the BMW dealer and pay like $50 or whatever for a siren.... anyone know the Alpine equivalent that can be bought at stereo/alarm shops that make the high pitched "beep" noise when arming and disarming?

 

anyone? I know some of you guys own your own shops/are alarm installers and would know...

since we have a long weekend we were going to buy the siren on saturday and install it... my friends pissed off that only the parking lights, keyless and starter kill on his alarm work.. and the siren doesnt..

haha its like he has a silent alarm.. when the alarm goes off only the parking lights flash.. but since he doesn't have a paging unit.. its useless...

I'm sure the Toyota parts will be cheaper than the BMW siren.. cuz I know for a fact the BMW sirens make the noise he wants when arming and disarming..

 

I got one around here somewhere. Came out of my Tacoma. If you didn't need it this weekend I could send it to you. Otherwise, you should be able to get it at any dealer. It is a small round box with ground and positive wires coming off it. Mine was draped over the airbox in my truck. It is real small, maybe 1-2 inches around.

check out that autopage siren, someone in the bestbuy section said that autopage used to make alarms for Alpine, might be worth a look

autopage? I wouldn't know where to get that.. I haven't seen that brand for sale at any of the shops near here..

Alpine sirens aren't the sound my friend is looking for.... at first I thought since BMW alarms are made by Alpine we could just get an alpine alarm siren... I called up my other friend that has the Alpine 8059 (I think thats the model #..not sure..but I know its an Alpine alarm for sure)... and its not the tone my friends looking for...

I think I'll go w/ Kwhitelaw's since the siren on our Lex and BMW is the sound my friend wants for his Viper/DEI alarm... and Kwhitelaw installs alarms for a living.. so I'm pretty sure he knows exactly the sound my friends looking for..
