Default A better 2.25 B-pipe....

Is there such a thing? I am now running Spoon 4-2-1, Carsound, stock B-Pipe out to Spoon Street Exhaust
http://www.ipsracing.com/engine/exha...on_street.html

As you can see, I am trying to achive some degree of power gain with near stock noise since this is my street car. However, there are two bottlenecks on the stock B-pipe, one at where it connects to the carsound and the other at the end to connect the exhaust.

I know SMSP sells an adapter where you cut off those two bottlenecks and snap it on to make it a full 2.25 pipe. Now, is this the only option to go or there are better b-pipes out there?

There are better B pipes, top of my head would be a 2.25" thermal B pipe, full stainless and no restrictions.

Where to buy the thermal one?

T1...er, forgot R&D's site...

How much am I looking for here

One thing I don't understand is...Both the Spoon N1 and Street exhaust has a 60.5mm connecting pipe. Is it possible for me to run a 2.5 b-pipe?

Thermal I think is 2.25" OD, making it around 2.12" ID. Same with the Comptech which did absolutely nothing for me on the dyno. I can't see any reason to spend money on an aftermarket 2.25" exhaust for a Type R.

Didn't someone say the new Spoon b-pipes were like 2.5" OD? If not they are at least 60.5mm (2.38") OD, bigger than stock at least.

Can a 2.5 pipe bolt up to a 60.5mm?

nEo, I think if you want good gains with minimal noise, get some custom cat-back 2.5" piping with a decent size resonator and a good free-flowing muffler, ES oval, etc. I'd have Dave/SMSP make you a nice stealth 2.5" cat-back using Magnaflow parts..

no.
thats why the new T1 B-pipes no longer bolt up to stock muffler flanges , they are 2.5" with no bottlenecks.

I was speaking of the current B-pipes which have the bottleneck in place to work with stock/spoon mufflers.

Too costly and time consuming...so I guess my best bet is the old-styled 2.25 T1 b-pipe that has no bottleneck...hmm $300 bucks

Neo, there's gotta be a decent custom exhaust shop in the NYC area. I know of a guy in Queens. Supposedly he makes good mandrel bent exhausts. I don't think it'll be too expensive..

I would like to run 2.5" all of the way back to the stock muffler
Would this work: JDM 2.5" header, Carsound cat 2.5", and a 2.5" B pipe with a modified flange to bolt up to the stock muffler? Is this the best way to open the exhaust going into the stock muffler?
Thanks

I would like to know too! And If I do chose to go with a 2.5 pipe, can anyone make such an adapter to connect to a 60.5mm flange?

Would this work
T1 B-pipe and ITR muff with bottleneck removed.
the muffler is still a restriction though.

I am now running a Spoon Street muffler with 60.5mm.

unless you are interested in this, Z-Speed SS 2.25" pipings, I can just sell you the pipings, they are off ITR, slip join at the rear section, super light weight, LMK if you are interested
