Hi everyone. This is my first post here. I am from the UK and own a 89 JDM SiR. The car is completely bare at the present time, no windows, doors etc. etc. I am gonna be pullin the B16A out in a couple of weeks and gettin the car ready to take the new motor.
I was originally gonna try to buy a B18C with the intention of Turbocharging but the second hand price of these motors was stupid, about £3000 UK ($4600US).
Anyway, I wont bore you all with the long story but I managed to get a complete JDM ITR motor and tranny from a friend for about £2000 UK ($3000 US).
Here comes the questions:
The motor will need to run at a lower compression but what internals (rods, pistons etc) do you guys use or recommend me to use on this setup. The car will not be used as a daily driver and I would like to run between 10-15psi of boost.
Also I will be using my y1 cable tranny from my B16A and will try to obatin an LSD for it, or will try to source an LSD equipped one. Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance for any info you can give me.

If you want to boost a B18C5 I wouldn't waste money building the motor. Spend the money on a really good engine managment. (Speedpro, Hondata, AEM, Zdyne ext) A Zdnye would be easiest of those mentioned but has the least options (no data logging) . You can make a lot of power without opening the B18C5. The high compression makes you tunning window very narrow compared to an engine with a lower CR.
Check out this B18C5 setup...It just has a block gaurd

I completly agree with 89civic1.8t, the tuning window it narrow on the B18C5 because of the compression ratio. which i now see he already said, so anyway.....If you use a blockguard, be very careful, dont pound it in. If you do, you will distort the tops of the cylinders. The use of high octane 91+ is highly recommended.
