How much power can you expect from a MiniMe Setup? Less then Z6?
I was going to convert the A6 to vtec via mini-me swap. I have heard that the gains are very minimal? Is this true?? I was expecting to get a conside amount more on the highway.
..kinda depends on how you set it up.... if its run with the pm6, it'll be starved for fuel/spark in the upper rpm, so you wont be makin much more power..if ran a fuel controller, that'd change things...or if you ran the p28 ecu, that'd change things...so its really dependent on your electronics... I have been told that the SOHC ZC has 112HP. For myself I have found that it is rated at 118HP. I was going on the assumption the motor is 112HP based on my trap speed and comparing to others.
The HP differences between the A6 and Z6 are due to the pistons or head.
It seems like the swap would only cost me about 300US anyway.
However, the car is my winter beater so maybe I should just leave it.

They are over in Scarborough.
Y8 head $150CDN.
Look into a OBD-OBD1 conversion harness and a P28 computer. US$300 sounded a little steep to me.

Nice, yeah I was considering new gaskets/headbolts etc..... vtec controller also.
I am just concerned about not getting the gains. I can pick up a D16Z6 in T.O. for about 250-300CAN, the whole motor!
How hard to convert to OBD-I though?

Where are you getting that enine so cheap?
The OBD conversion is just a jumper harness. I am making one for my brother's '88 CRX as well. Not terribly hard, just really, really.....really tedious.

If you search around you can do the swap under 100$, if you can't wait I have seen it done up to 500$
