I heard armor all isn't good to use (cracks/eats away at the dash or whever else you use it) so I use the... uhh green bottle (same brand that makes Turtle Wax). Probably the same exact stuff as armor all hehe
Yup, armor all is not your cars friend. As are any vinyl/leather dressing that have petroleum distilates in them. They are added to have some cleaning action to them, but in actuality they are a rubber solvent and will slowly eat away at your vinyl/rubber/leather/etc.
Instead to clean, use a mild leather cleaner (lexol PH balanced cleaner is a good choice), and follow up with a silicone free dressing like lexol vinylex or aerospace 303.

There is this stuff called "Folex" that works great on carpets. You can find it at places like Albertsons, Vons, Target...(its a home cleaning product, so you won't find it at the autoparts store)

Stay away from Armor All. You'll be sorry later on a few years later.
Besides, that shiny/fake look doesn't look good in my opinion either. Just keep it nice and clean. Every time you wash you car, just wipe it off with a damp cloth. Look under some leather conditioners....some of them let you condition vinyl with them too.

I use oxyclean. Mix with water its great to get the stain out. after I use oxyclean in its dry (wipe with a dry towel) I spray on some of the Mcguire interior spray protection.
armor all is bad?
damn, i've been using it for years and didn't know that it could eat away vinyl...that's a bad thing....i might try something else

ive been using son of a gun for the past 3 years on my cars, does it contain distillates like armor all as well? i was told not to use armor all in particular.
I dindt know anybody actually bought that oxyclean stuff on TV.. . . what parts of your car do you use it on though? Work well?
The first time I cleaned my interior I used Orange Cleaner. It's stuff that the mechanics use on their hands to get the grease off. Works real good.
Then I just use some mothers to give it a nice shine and protect the vinyl or whatever interior pieces I'm cleaning. The Orange Cleaner you can get a any auto parts store for like $1. And trust me you will be pleased...

oxyclean works wonders. I thought it sucked because that weird guy on tv sells it. None of his stuff ever works, but this did. just diloute it with a lot of water an squirt it on the carpet and seats. You won't be disappointed.
at the audi dealership I work at we use CarBrite products.. you can't buy 'em on the public market. It's excellent stuff, if any of you can get your hands on it, try Xtra-duty.. it's a foaming solvent which works amazing and smells minty fresh
I am a detailer. Believe it or not we use industrial strength degreaser. Scary isn't it. The Orange Clean works good too. Do not spray it directly on the panels. Spray it on a rag then wipe it. If you have scuffs from shoes and stuff get a bug scrubber for windshields. Then treat it with some interior dressing like Formula 2000. It's a shame that the professional stuff is not available to the public. It really is better than anything.
