Just bought a 99 teg ls and for some reason the OEM alarm doesn't seem to be working. When I push the buttons on the remote the red light turns on, but there's no chirp or anything like that. I read the manual for it but it didn't help at all. Also what's the green button do?

do you know even if the alarm works at all, try the silver switch on the driver side kick panel.....

 

sounds like its in vallet mode. i think to turn it off you open the door, press the second button, the first button then the second button again.

 

No I don't know if it even works, I don't even see the siren anywhere. Where do they put them from the factor? I also can't find any switch by the kickpanel. Where exactly is it?
I'm wondering if they previous owner took the factory alarm out, put in an aftermarket one, and when he traded the car in took his out and never put the factory one back in. Where is the siren? Or the black box?

 

you can have it on silent mode where there is no chirp, thats how i have mine becuase that chirp is annoying like a ****

 

i dont think there is just a universal "factory Alarm". i think all dealers use different ones. When u hit the button to disarm or arm the alarm do any lights blink? The LED light in the car that blinks is it blinking? or is it solid?

 

There is a OEM alarm for Integra.... not some aftermarket install crap.

If your car is 99, there is still a chance the car is still under warranty. Take the car to the dealer and have them look at it.

 

Really? I wasnt offered one when i got my car. They installed some other one.

 

Yea it's still got lots and lots of warenty left, it's one of those acura certified cars. I just didn't know if the alarm would be covered or not. Since I can't find a siren I'm thinking the alarm is just plain missing. Do you know where your siren is located?
