what is long tranny gears for
longer geared trannies are good for overall top speed in a vechile with a wide powerband... like NAWS =X... but yeah those are really the 2 reasons to have long gearing.. oh yeah and if u drive on the freeway alot and u like to get reasonable gas mileage .. nothing like 3k rpms @80mph in 5th gear in a civic god I miss those days =P

My 95 ex trans (S20) tachs about 3k @ 80mph+. It's great for those of us who commute to work and have to drive on the freeway at higher speeds than those of us who do mainly city driving. I typically get about 36-38mpg on my D16z6 with I/H/E.
