OT- Anyone know how to deal w/ a "Fix-It ticket" in WA state?
Hi, I recently gota ticket for not having a front license plate and a modified exhaust. The officer who pulled me over said that I wouldn't have to pay for it, if I fixed it. I know I have to check "Mitigation" on the back of the ticket; but do I have to go to the court house and have them check it, that day. Or do I go to the mitigation hearing and have them check it. Could I take pics of the car and mail it in? I'm kind of confuse. Thanks.
My friend got a fix it for front plate. all he did was put the plate back on took a picture and brought it to court with him and they dismissed it. Good luck
is far as i can remember, they cant give you a ticket in WA state for a modified exhaust unless it exeeds noise emissions, because of the new act that passed allowing us to have modified exhausts. so do a search on vehicle laws, im sure you'll find it somewhere.
as far as plates, always have them on to avoid confrontation with the cops. even if you have an intercooler, just put it offset on your bumper. it might make your car look stupid but hey, who cares. its just plates.

you can fight the modified exhaust. im sure they didn't bust a decibel meter. to see how loud it was. like he said above put it back to stock and take pics. go to court and show em.
get a friends car, throw your plates on, and take pics. Now you don't have to bother changing your exhaust.
Taking picts isn't going to work if the judge asks to see the car. Why fight it it's just a fix it ticket, $20. Just fix the ****-put the stock exhaust on and the plate-then get it signed off. Don't lie because if you go to court and the judge asks to see the car and it is still illegal he will **** you.

take a pic of your car then get someone really good to photoshop you a stock exhaust you may as well just put the plate on the front and take a pic...save some time.

I do it all the time with tint. Take it off then put it back on. I'm telling you if the court busts you you are in deep ****.
Highly unlikely that the judge would want to see the vehicle, even if he did you could have driven another vehicle that day.
But to get away from all that hassle, just take the pics with the stock stuff like everyone says and bring it down to the court before your schuduled date and usually they will stamp the ticket with "dismissed with proof" easy as that.
I have had them for front plates about 3 times as well as 1 for colored blinkers. this was in portland or.

Ok, I'm going to take pics. Should I bring the pics in w/ me during the mitigation hearing, or should I bring them in before that. I have already given them my ticket w/ "mitigation" checked on the back. Thanks for all the advice.
I never checked any box I just went in there with the pica and the ticket before the posted date and everything was cool.

no the judge isn't an idiot, but they do throw it out. Like I said before, my friend took a picture of his car with the front plate on it with the date backing that prints on the photo, took it to court and got it thrown out.
