Default Torque Spec please: Um B pillar chassis brace?

I don't know what it's called... but it's not in my service manual. The 3 pcs of black painted steel on the floor right where the rear seats would fit. Several large bolts hold them down. Well I need to take that off to remove my seatbelts it appears.

Does anyone have the torque specs for it? Is this a Type R specific part?

Really?

I've never removed that piece on any of the cars that I've removed the rear seatbelts from.

I think it is a R specific cross brace.

16lb*ft for all the horizontal bolts and those not directly under the rear seat. These are the shorter bolts (8mm)

28 lb&ft for the ones directly underneath the seat. Th'are da lunger ones (10mm).

Supplement says you need to remove it to access the lower seat belt bolt. It's not always right on the money tho. Might be one of those cases where nonconventional methods are just as effective.

are you talking about removing the rear seat belt buckles?? or the rear seat belt retractor?? if it is for the rear seat belt retractor, which im thinking thast what your talkign about, you DO NOT have to remove anything except, rear trim panel, rear seat, and side trim panel HTH

if it is for the fron then you are right here you go:

there are 2 different types of bolts with 2 different tq specs:

the first 3 on top of the bar: 28 lbft / 38 Nm

all the rest (5 total): 16 lbft / 22 Nm

HTH

art - wishes he had a scanner

Well seeing how theres no "huge pieces of steel" to take off near the rear belts, and the fact I said 'B pillar', I thought it was pretty clear.

Wut the hell do you know, you don't own an arrr anyway...

hehe
