Where is this purge solonoid thing? Unplugging it for kenjis ecu..
I did some searches and I'm trying to figure out what this is, and exactly where it is?
Is this a hose? Is it wires? Is it connected to only the engine? Where is it located?
My cold idle is pissing me off with the p28, I need to unplug that supposedly.. please help.

The purge control solenoid has a two pin electrical connector going to it, and two vacuum hoses. One hose goes to the intake manifold, the other goes to the charcoal cannister.

evap is a black box that sits I think on the firewall of integras or on the fuel rail of a 99-00 B16A2.

Nameless,
If you are OBD2 and you are using an OBD2 to OBD1 ECU conversion harness (doesn't matter who made it) you need to unplug the EVAP purge solenoid.
If you are running a chipped P28 ECU (doesn't matter who chipped it) and you are NOT using an OBD2 to OBD1 ECU conversion harness there is no need to unplug the EVAP purge solenoid.
If you are experiencing cold idle issues you can fix it by adjusting your idle a little higher with the idle adjustment screw.

on my DX motor (hope this helps) the EVAP or purge solenoid valve is located on the drivers side of the intake manifold, towards the cabin. I think its the same on my GSR.
-it has a hose running from the bottom of the valve into the IM a few inches blow.
-it has a plug that points toward the firewall
-it has that little rubber cap like a D size battery, half as tall as that battery.

This is for a JDM Type R motor in a 99 DX.
I still can't locate this thing anywhere.. I can on a B16, and the old DX motor, but not the Type R.
Will someone point out a number if you see it here?

Number 8 at the top right, like CivicEK.PDX said.

That is for a B16. I DO NOT have that manifold.
I have a Type R manifold. Check the pic out that I posted..

one has it on the firewall... one has it on the manifold.
oh I see.
Well where is mine?
99 Civic DX, JDM ITR engine.
I did not get anything that came off the firewall with my engine.. and everything is plugged in!

Wait, I forgot I have a plug not used coming from the fuel injector/rail area off my 00 Si harness. Is that where it would be located?
Ok, since your too chicken to email Kenji
here is what he had to say.
where is the evap purge solonoid located at for 94+integras.
"It is on the firewall and there is a hose running to the intake
manifold."
"If you have a GS-R it is on the top of the intake manifold by the
throttlebody."
hope that helps

jeeze. I'll say it again:
JDM TYPE R ENGINE IN A 99 CIVIC DX
It is not on the firewall, it is not on my manifold. Does this mean I do not have one?
I am using a 00 Si harness, and there is an unused plug coming off the injector wire area of the harness, I have a feeling that is it (see pic). Meaning it is already unplugged CORRECT?

I can't tell what connector you are holding in your hand from the picture, but I noticed that your IAT is not connected.

Circled.

Circled.
Looks like CKF (CranK Fluctuation Sensor). Not used on JDM motors. It is an OBD-II specific sensor.
I just want to make sure..
The plug on the intake manifold runner is the IAT, I had to extend the IAT wires on the Si harness to reach that. It was cake..
I suspect that the connector you have in your hand is for the purge solenoid, but I have not worked on Honda's since '99, so my memory of '99 Honda connectors is kind of hazy... I don't think it could be anything else. And if your warm idle is o.k., you are not having a problem with your purge solenoid; the purge solenoid creates a large vacuum leak at idle when a P28 ECU is hooked to a Type-R engine harness. There was a thread awhile back where the guy posted video of his problem with the purge solenoid, you could hear the hiss of a large vacuum leak.
