I'm going to be in Nashville over Thanksgiving, and though I won't have the ARRR, I thought I'd see if any Nashville people could recommend some good performance/race shops in the area. Not sure if they'd even be open over the holidays. I'm looking for a place to park my butt in some aftermarket race-seats and possibly even look at and fit for Nomex racing suits/helmets/gear. Just thought it might be an opportunity to find a place in a bigger city that would have availability to that kind of stuff. (doesn't Nashville even have it's own NASCAR track now?)

if not... well it was a longshot and beats trying to call a hundred places in the yellow-pages once I got there.

Nashville has country music, dirt track racing and even a Nascar track they hardly use. But good luck finding anything resembling a real race shop. We have a dyno on 6th street but it is by appt only. There will be an Auto-X on Dec 1 if you are still in town. If you have the ability to travel a little I will be staying in Chattanooga over the holiday which is an hour and a half shoutheast of Nashville. Would be cool to meet you and there is an Auto-X in Chattanooga the first too which you could ctahc a ride in an R at ;-)

I know a bunch ofguys in the Nashville area but NONE are R owners. I have met one or 2 but very hard to get them to show up a second time to anything.

 

i am from nashville and yes now we do have a import shop trey it just opened......and they are actually carring nice parts......they refuse to carry apc and matrix and things like that that the other shops around here carry


o yea the shop is called thrust....and alot of good guys run the place

 

LMAO, he didn't say import shop where they have DC (non rice) parts. He asked for a race shop with good seats and nomex suits. There isn't one.

Thrust is the same as Hot Rods in the Boro, which is still just an import shop.

I'd love to go to an autocross but I'll be on the road back to AR on the 1st. This whole trip sucks, I'm missing an autocross AND rallycross back here for visiting some family instead... oh well, guess I should be "thankful" to have some vacation time huh?

Several people asked if I wanted to meet up but I won't have my car and probably not much freedom or time outside of "family activities".... I'll just have to see. Thanks for the replies though!
