brakes??
for those tech'es who dont know. i have a 99 civic hx...
i'm planning on changing my brakes over the winter sometime and my question is on the brake parts in general. i know i can use the delsol and civic si for the rear brakes but a couple of things i'm not really grasping?
#1: could'nt i just use the front and rear disc's and calipers off a 90-93 teg?
#2: another 1 i thought of is if i wanted to do a 5 lug converision could i use parts from a 97-00 2.2 acura cl ?..
these may sound stupid to someone who knows whats going on, but that's why this question exists...cuz i don't!
thanks

#1 Don't know.
#2a DON"T DO 5 lug. Look at http://www.fastbrakes.com they have a HT only offer for 11" fronts using your stock calipers for 250 shipped!!!!
#2b 5 lugs weight a ton. You already own an HX don't go adding weight that it doesn't need.
#3 Changing the fronts to larger will not allow you to use the HX alloys. They have a slightly curved offset that will rub against any calipers other than stock.
If you just throw on rear disks you will screw up your brake balance.
Need, Teg or SI fronts and rear, proportioning valve and Master cylinder.

thanks 4 the fast reply...the problem i'm more or less looking to elimanate is the peuny rotors in front..if i had larger rotors would'nt i need a new caliper also?
what gen teg would i need?
also all these upgrades are due to the fact that i'm going h22 so i want/need to upgrade brakes/suspension before hand..thats why i want disc all around
i want something that serves the perpose without braking the bank, but no mickey mouse either....

I wanted to do a simular thing. If the pattern is the same can't you just replace the rotor and calipers with ones off an integ or si. And the only differance would be pedal response. You can add big rotors to the front and the only additional parts are caliper relocators . Maybe I'm just being nieve but isn't this the same thing.

What are the reason's for wanting /getting bigger brakes? Is this a Hatch? Stock Engine ?
Fastbrakes makes a good kit as someone else mentioned. If your car is prertty much stock,(has engine that it came with) Trying getting some new Rotors and Some better brake pads, suchs as Axxis Ultimates. You can get the Axxis Ultimaes @ http://www.colbatfriction.com they have honda-tech discount.
