My auto trans (90K) started slipping after getting off freeway, it got to where I could only get up to 20 mph. Then no foward gears would engage at all except reverse.
Car sat for 8 hours and everything worked fine after it was towed to shop. I had guy put new fluids in, he fixed loose rear engine mount.
On trip home shifted fine till exiting freeway and started slipping....I noticed if I turned car off and restarted I could get tranny to limp home.
Heres whats wierd when tranny will not engage any gears I can disconnect pos. post of battery and put it back and tranny is ok...I did this three times with same result. (Shift points seemed screwy still.)
Could the AT CONTROL UNIT under the passengers feet cause erratic shift points and no function of transmission?
