Autopower or Kirk?
i gotta quote for the autopower rollbar for $270 plus shipping and will be about 3-6 weeks to manufacture than ship. however this is the non DOM material and made of the ERW. i was talking to REID and according to him the DOM will be standard soon for scca regulations. the Kirk i got quote for $315 plus shipping but only 2 weeks to manufacture and deliver. i like the design of the kirk better and i get to keep my speakers. should i save money and wait a while for AP or pay a little bit more for quicker delivery?

I would go with the Kirk over the autopower, the overall Quality of the Kirk is better imho, plus Mark Stewart (Owner) is a hell of a guy
. BTW Mention the Wrek @ Vir they had in thier RX7's and see what happens.

The only reason that I don't like the Kirk is that it mounts to the crumple zones in the rear, whereas the autopower mounts the wheel wells. I feel that the Autopower would give you higher structural stiffening due to where the points mount, and the shorter bars that would have less flex, but I'm not an engineer, so I can't give you actual proof to my thoughts, but I still like the Autopower over the Kirk, Chris(6 point) and Bob#455(4 point) have kirks, and Iggy(4 point) has an Autopower.
If you're on a time constraint and need something go with the Kirk as they have excellent response time when building and delivering their product, if you don't care about the wait go with the Autopower, although Iggy had his in ~4 weeks.

Awwww, c'mon guys, where's the love? I tried to do this before. Here's my bigass Autopower vs. Kirk thread, since I've used both:

Hope it helps.

I got the Autopower over the Kirk for one main reason and that was to still allow the use of my rear seats. Later after comparing the two (the one on Bob#455) I noticed that you do not have truck space left.
Pro's and Cons in my opinion.
Autopower:
Pro:
1. Keep use of rear seats. If you have rear passengers they can still ride if you have removable cross bars.
2. Keep your trunk space.
Con's:
1. No rear speakers.
Kirk:
Cons:
1. No use of rear seats.
2. No trunk space.
Although I did not comment on stiffness, I don't think ether is better than the other. They both provide roll protection and that is their main purpose. the rest it up to personal choice. I was told to wait 5-6 weeks and I got it in half the time.
It is really personal preference.

that autopower looks really nice.
It'll look much better once I attack it with some BBQ grill paint.

edit- looking at sackdz's pictures.. i guess the AP rollbar doesn't negate the use of a rear strut tower bar does it?
