As many of you guys know I have a dent on my drivers side door where body line is midway up. I don't know if they will be able to fix it at the crease so I thought it may be easier to get another DC2 door and shave the side molding.

Are the significant differences betweewn the doors like weight and the material?

They are kinda hard to find and the ones I do find are always halfway across the country. Those bitches are too heavy to ship.

What is the labor costs for shaving the mouldings? IMO-I wouldnt want the bondo, if I didnt have to.

 

Well, it's more welded metal than bondo... unless Maaco is having a hand at making ITR-style doors.

 

I'm not sure how much the cost would be to shave it but I don't think it would be that bad. I have seen some EK's with the molding pulled off and the holes filles in and they really didn't look that bad.

Essentially, I would be doing the same with the DC2 door, just filling in the holes. It's not like I am going to add an enormous amont of bondo to it.

 

is only the outside damaged? there no need to get entire door just for that, all you need is just the last (oustide) sheet, metal skin (whatever they call it). I might be wrong, but molding come separate.

 

Er, isn't it indented like on Civics? You can't just bondo a hole that deep and long and expect it to look right...

I've seen EK's w/ just the plug hole filled and it looks fine but that won't exactly match the rest of your R.
