ecu
if i were to get another ecu for my type s, and have it programed by hondata, if i had a problem with the motor or something would i be able to switch ecu's w/o the dealership knowing? also, if i can does anyone know where i can get another ecu?
Just remember, you'll need the immoblizer and keys to correspond with the ecu.
I'm not too sure what the ecu records, so you might not be able to fool the dealership. I know the ecu will record any fatal rpm, so with that in mind, I could see the ecu recording mileage as well. If the mileage on the ecu doesn't match up to what is displayed on the gauge cluster, they'd probably suspect something. But this is all speculation.

good points
also, if your concerend with over-revving or something, you can just clear the ecu memory.
from what i understand, unless honda views the tables, they dont have a way of knowing that the ecu is flashed.
