Default need some help 84 prelude

Hi all, new user. I have an 84 Prelude thats been dealing me problems the last couple years. Now I would like to fix it.

There is something temperature sensitive that is having problems. In the summer when it is hot outside my car does not idle (maybe 300 rpms seriously) When it gets colder outside, it idles higher until the engine gets warm.

When it gets really cold out like 20 F or below or even 30 F and below, it will start up fine and then die out after a couple minutes of running. Then it won't start again. This morning I unplugged the fuel line right before then filter in the engine compartment and no gas came out, so I'm thinking bad fuel pump (by the way, I replaced both fuel filters 2 months ago) When I cranked it over fuel came out right away, so once I took the pressure off it worked and then started up soon after plugging it back in.

Any ideas? I'm don't have the $$ or experience with cars to tear into carbs but would try anything simple if you have an idea.

Also wondering where I could get a cheap fuel pump or is there a rebulid kit I can try? How much does a new/used pump cost?

Thought I would throw in I'm getting anwhere from 23 to 29 mpg right now.

Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
TJ

Thats an easy one! When you start it up any time push the gas pedel down 3 times then start it and don't touch any thing (steering wheel or pedels) after it comes out of "choke" it should idle fine if it doesn't then you need to reset the idle.

Let the car warm up completely and have a friend sit in the car and hold the break pedel down put the car in drive. You then adj. the Idle with a philips head screwdriver. that should fix your problem.

Thanks for the reply. However, it is a manual transmission. I will look into that though. Is there one screw or a screw for each carb that I need to adjust?

Also still having the cold start lack of fuel problem.
Thanks,
TJ
