Need Info (Starting From Beginning)
Like I said, I know absolutely nothing about motorcycles. I have been thinking about maybe sometime in the future of purchasing one, but I hear all of these horror stories of motorcycles, I was wondering if it is even worth getting one?!? My dilemma is that I weigh 90 pounds. Does HONDA even make a model that is small enough for me? I would appreciate it if someone could help me answer my questions. Thanks!
hrm....90lbs.... im about 120 (55kg is around 120 right?) myself and 165cm. Ive seen girls that ride motorcycles that are way smaller than me and weigh less than me. Just try some, even if you cant sit down with both your feet on the ground, its ok.
For the horror stories.... it happens, but if you wear leathers, helmet and good boots, and dont do anything stupid, you should be ok..... my brother crashed because of plain stupidity, just wasnt used to the motorcycle, and decided to open the throttle alittle too much, and crashed at the exit of a corner.
If you want to ride it, get one! its reaaaaaly fun.
good luck!

Well for some reason people remember motorcycle horror stories more than they do when it comes to automobiles. Try looking at some of the 250's. If not, look at the ninja 500r, they're not that big when compared to other bikes(height-wise).

First of all. Go take the msf rider course. They will teach you everything you need to know to get riding. Look into an older kawasaki ninja ex250. Great starter bike. Low to the ground. Enough power to give you a good rush but not too much to get you into a lot of trouble.
MSF= Motorcycle safety foundation. They offer motorcycle rider training for new as well as experienced riders. The offer a hands on training for riding. Please invest in this before buying a bike or trying to learn on your own. Also if you plan on riding invest in some good safety equipment, leathers, helmets gloves and boots.

On a side note, look for a smaller 250/400 cc bike and that would be an excellent beginner bike. If you insist on buying a sportbike with fairings, the kawasaki ex 250 ninja, suzuki gs500, or even a yzf 400 if you can find em. They are/were very rare, but would be pretty good for a beginner. they are also popular with the racers.
Edit:
Found one for sale, minus a few plastics. I believe it is a female who owns it.

I highly recommend you ride on the dirt for a while. You will learn the handling characteristics/physics of a bike much faster on dirt. Not to mention much safer. Also cheaper.
