Default Filter (?) on T3/T4 60-1 w/Inline-Pro manifold?

Which filter and where do you put it on a tight set-up like this one's turning out to be?

I'm not terribly thrilled with the idea of running w/o a filter.
Using some screen doesn't seem that much better than filterless. IMHO

try a motorcycle filter, it works, it's just a high flow chunk a foam.

pretty sweet dp, what kind is that and how much? also this is my first turbo setup and ive been thinking the same thing. i was thinking that a would run some kind of pipeing to a cooler spot in the engine bay, then find a filter w/a big *** opening, i have seen them before i think by k&n...i think i saw it at advance auto and saying damn look at the size of this opening, it was a stock drop in replacement, but i cant remember what car, or exactly how big it was

I'm running a Rev Hard Manifold and a Turbonetics 60-1 HIFI turbo. The intake was the last of the piping I did since I wasn't real sure what the hell to do to get a filter on. I ended up buying an expensive *** 2.75" silicone 90 degree coupler. The inlet on the HIFI is 2.75". By running the 90 Degree right off the turbo, it ends up aiming straight up and avoiding the fan etc. Then I ran a 3" mandrel bent pipe down to it and reduced it down to 2.75" in order to fit into the coupler.
HTH a little

Thanks Guys.

The manifold is a Swain Tech coated Inline-Pro.
The downpipe is only partly done because there's still the closed loop portion from the WG to go on.

The exhaust work is by Dave Stadulis at SMSP.
Thanks to Dave and Steve (sgT) for putting up with all my requests in this project.

you sure you cant get a coupler on there and squeeze a pipe in?

Yes, I'm definately going to try and work something in there for a filter.

The downpipe is a custom job that Dave at SMSP is doing for me (3" cat and 3" Thermal R&D).

SMSP is a member on this board and would be more than happy to make one of these DP's for you, as soon as he finishes with my car.

You've got plenty of space compared to me

The revhard on my sohc has the same problem...had to use a 3" 45 degree silicone boot, a 3" silicone pipe and then the filter.

I see I'm in good company.

Looks like I'll need to cut at least one 7x10 (or so) in the nose of the car for the oil cooler, too.

zyg baker precision sells those 90 degree silicone elbows, hella pricy though. imo u should wait till the motor is in the car before you fab something up cause the slave cylinder might interfere, at least it does on my setup.

BINGO!
That seems to be the primary impediment.
I started this several months ago, I'll see it through till the end.

Boy those silicone couplers sure are not cheap for what you get, but if it works, who cares!

Looking great Ed, you sure are doing this build up the right way. How long have you been planning/saving/buying, over a year now?

Another fine downpipe made by SMSP!!!

I was thinking about this very question earlier today, ...

so I guess you could say it started 1 1/2 - 2 years ago when I bought the Drag III kit from B18CXr at the first ITR Expo in 01.
I ordered the vented CF hood and rear springs for my suspension back in March of this year, and expect to have the downpipe coated and everything tuned and running by the end of January.

Now I'm thinking the stock Draqg III intercooler might be a bit small.
